Wierd Problem
Hey guys, so heres my problem that i hope someone here can help me out with.
I bought the collectors edition, with the headset ofcourse. I installed TS that came with the collectors edition, and when i tried to play, i can only hear, but i cant talk. At first, i thought the headset was broken, until i tried to use it on Aim(AOL Instant Messanger). I connected the headset to my pc, clicked Talk on AIM and these 2 green bars came up. One bar was for how loud im talking, and one was for how loud the other person is talking. So i tested it, and when i talked the green bar for me went up a tiny bit, indicating that the headset does work. After that, i took it off, looked at it, and when i was trying to see what the problem is, i tapped gently on the left earphone, and the green bar on aim jumped up. I tried talking into the right earphone, and the person i talked to said he could hear me perfectly, unlike when i talk into the earpiece, he couldnt hear.
So i was wondering, why is it that when i talk into the earpiece, people on the other end hear less then a whisper, but when i talk into the left earphone my voice comes out perfectly clear/loud?
Any info on this would be greatly appreciated

I have no idea how the TS system is setup with the collectors pack, but I can only assume you would have two cables to connect into the PC Soundcard, or a seperate card to work with the headpiece?
One cable for the Mic and one for the Ear Pieces. If not, then I don't know how that bit of it works.
As far as talking into the different pieces, do you have a Mic and 2 ear pieces, or 1 mic and 1 ear piece? Don't forget, it will only be the Mic that you can talk into which could explain why you get the whisper heard from your friends. You might be talking into the wrong piece.
If it is all setup properly, then maybe either the cable is connected to the headpiece back to front, or you have the software installed incorrectly.
That's about all I can help you with as I don't have TS.

I'd be happy to help you out. First of all make sure you have the headphones and mic into the correct jacks on your Soundcard. Most soundcards are going to have the green port that you want to put the black plug in for the speakers. The pink plug goes to the pink port for the mic.
I'm assuming you're running Windows. Open up your volume control and go to advanced properties, make sure you're mic is working and not muted, (probably is if you were on AOL stuff, but check anyway). Then once you get logged into a TS server, go to *i think it's options, or tools* then select sound input/output settings. From that set the voice activation level where you want it. Quiet lets you speak in softer tones and the mic will pick it up. Or you can select push to talk. If you select that, hold down the key you want to designate to talk. You should be okay from there.
If this dosen't work, let me know what type of soundcard you have.

To the above 2 replies: Thanx for the help guys . I changed the Headset wires to that they go into the right ports, and put the volume in the volume options to the max, and now everything works like a charm .Thanks for the help again.
